TOPIC: Where is your heart?
BIBLE READING: – Matthew 6; 19-24
Our text this morning in verse 21 says, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. The question before us now is: where is your heart right now? Is it on your finances, or on the contract you are pursuing, or on your project? Where? Your answer matters so much as therein lies your strength.
To the extent to which your heart is on the Lord, to that extent would you be enlightened to behold much more the acts of God in your life and in all around you. If only we relies that he said “Cast your burdens upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee…” (Psalms 55:22a). If your life is hid with Christ in God, then let your heart be no where else but only in God.
It is God who gave to us the power to make wealth. Yet the young man in Matthew 19:16-23, only beheld his wealth {much wealth} and not Jesus. There were very few people who met Jesus in the Bible, and left sad. This young man was one of them because his heart and therefore his treasure were on his wealth.
I may not know how wealth you are, but one thing I know is, if your heart is right with God, and you are in Him then, you definitely have peace.
Prayer: Lord, help me to place my heart firmly on you, so that my treasure remains in God forever and ever.
