“DAILY COMMUNION WITH GOD”
AT THE TABLE OF LOCKDOWN
02nd June, 2020
Topic: You Are Distinct
BIBLE READING: – Genesis 26:1-13
To be distinct is to be clearly different. That is why your name is not theirs, your town is not theirs and you were not born from the same womb! Hear it again: you are distinct. Because of a temporary situation (famine), Isaac, no doubt, wanted to do what others were doing to get by.
But he was a child of covenant! So are you, if you are born again child of God. Despite the circumstances of his day, because he obeyed God’s specific instructions to him, he was mightily blessed.
Please read verse 13 again. That can be your testimony too! So, make up your mind today not to follow God generally. You are distinct. Follow Him specifically, and it will be well with you.
The Bible says in Exodus 23:2, that “thou should not follow multitude…” to do evil. But as a matter of fact, even to do good! If you do not know why you are doing something, and it is just “follow – follow”, you will NOT enjoy the benefits of it! Yes, we are all to obey all of God’s word, but because you are a distinct person, there are some other things just for you. Will you discover them? You will get more out of life thereafter.
Prayer: Oh Lord, the grace to obey you throughout the journey of June and beyond give me in Jesus name.
