Topic: The Two Sides Of Trust
BIBLE READING: – genesis 22:1-12
It is required of us to trust God, putting everything on line to show our total and complete dependence on Him. But we must also realize that our faith in God marked the beginning of a relationship between us and our maker. It is a two-way relationship and in the same way that God wants us to trust Him. He wants to be able to trust us also. Abraham as at this point in time had walked with God for many years and this was the first time God was saying concerning Abraham that “Now I know”
He was tested, tried and proven. Remember that God knows all things. He had even said in Genesis 18:19 that “for I know him” yet He said now I know when Abraham got to the point that God was able to trust him with virtually anything. Make it your aim for your personal relationship with God to go to this level. When you get there, there will be nothing God will not do for you. Let Him {God} trust you.
In Luke 16:10-12, Jesus made a profound statement. “if you have been unfaithful in the unrighteous mammon who will commit into your hands true riches”. It means that there are riches and there are true riches. Not only that, there is a condition to obtaining the true riches which is simply that God is able to find you faithful or that God can trust you with earthly things. There are not too many people who do not desire the true riches but the problem is the unrighteous mammon which is hindering them.
Allow God to trust you with earthly treasures and then He will give you heavenly treasures.
