TOPIC: Love And Willingness To Serve
BIBLE READING: – Genesis 24:15-20
Many of us enjoy others doing things for us. Your mummy, sisters or house-help do the cooking, aunties wash your clothes, make your bed, iron your clothes, and so on. Have you ever thought of helping or serving others even when they did not ask you as Rebecca did {vs. 18; 20}?
It must have been a difficult task running to the well to draw water for the camels, but Rebecca demonstrated love and willingness to serve not minding what will come to pass as a result of her readiness to serve. How do you help at home, your sisters, brothers and those around you, including doing God’s work?
The Bible encourages us to serve one another in love {Gal.5:13}. What will you do today to make someone happy? How about service to God? What do you do with your talents? Do you have a good voice? Do you play musical instruments? Why not serve God with others? What of your life? You are alive and healthy; why not dedicate it to God’s service?
Joni Yoder became paralyzed at the age of 18, yet she dedicated her life to God’s service by helping others. What talent has God given you? Write them down now. Have you been using them or wasting them? How can you use them better than you are now?
